In terms of chronological order, The Wolverine takes place after X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) rather than X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009).  I have always loved movies that talk about the pains of immortality, so I love this aspect of the movie.  There is a good action sequence that takes place on train.  Other than that, however, the actions are smaller scale than I hoped.  The lack of other mutants on the side of Wolverine also makes it slightly less exciting for me.  The story is good, until a plot twist that makes me wonder whether the whole thing makes complete sense.

Note: during the credits, there is an important teaser for the next X-Men movie.  We get to see someone important.
