After Earth (Blu-ray release 2013-10-8) is severely disappointing, considering the presence of Will Smith and the budget.  The script puts his real son stranded in the future Earth and needed to face various dangers in order to get a beacon to call for help, while Will Smith does very little other than sitting and occasionally talking to his son via the communicator.  I think it is inherently difficult for a story about a single child adventuring to be told well.  To make things worse, the pacing is slow, and the risks he faced do not attain the quality of the best action movies.  Will Smith is also wasted.
