If I clearly knew August: Osage County, based on an award-winning play, is a story about a dysfunctional family, I would not have watched it.  I’m not sure what the point is to watch a family disintegrates, everyone gets hurt deeply in their heart and runs away.  Perhaps to teach the audience to treat their families well, and do not abuse drugs?  I’m sure everyone else gets it, otherwise the play would not have got many awards.  Nevertheless, we see strong performance from Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts.
