The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is not too amazing. In this installment Spider-Man faces Electro and Green Goblin. When he’s not dealing with monsters or saving people, he spends most of the time on struggling whether to leave his girlfriend or not, due to the promise he made to her dead father. Unfortunately this section has neither sufficient emotional nor dramatic impact. Another subplot concerns the mystery of his father’s death, which should have been rather interesting but stops suddenly instead of affecting the subsequent events. In terms of pacing, the middle section drags a bit. We had better Spider-Man movies before. I like the child in the epilogue though.
