The Wind Rises (Blu-ray release 2014-6-18) is going to be Hayao Miyazaki’s last animated movie.  It is a fictionalized biography of the designer of the Japanese Zero Fighter used in World War II.  Although it does have a serious tone, it has a surprising fantasy element in it – the dream sequences.  Although they make the movie slightly more interesting than it is, I find it odd.  I also wrongly expected it to have an anti-war message, it does not.  Instead I think I got a message of follow your dreams, even if it means designing killing machines.  The people I know and myself like the fantasy movies made by Miyazaki that can be enjoyed by all ages, but this movie does not belong to this category.
