From a Hong Kong director, 閨密 (Girls) (Blu-ray release 2014-10-10) depicts the friendship among three women.  Although it is targeted at female audience as it primarily deals with themes about female friendship (e.g. jealousy of friends’ beauty, whether you tell your friend if you find out her boyfriend is cheating on her, etc.), I enjoyed watching it.

The first part of the movie is the best.  It begins with a woman having been shown that her fiancee is cheating on her.  She becomes devastated, but her friends take care of her and are willing to do everything to cheer her up.  This part is also very comedic.  Naturally, this friendship will then be challenged – due to the presence of men.  The climax changes to a different tone, making it incoherent with the rest of the movie, but I think this is forgivable.  I was not pleased with The Stolen Years (2013), the previous movie from this director, but this one is far more pleasant.  I also like the acting of two of the three women.
