Wood Job! (Blu-ray release 2014-11-19) is a movie adaptation of a Japanese novel.  A high school student, after failing university entrance examination and dumped by his girlfriend, decides to join a one-year forestry training program because of the pretty girl shown on the promotional pamphlet.

Although forestry training sounds like a boring subject, this movie turns out to be really funny.  Some of the jokes are specific to its environment and job, so they are not usually seen in typical comedies.  Not only the jokes work, but the story is original, interesting and complete as well.  It also has a fantasy element that I found to be charming.  This is the best Japanese movie I’ve watched in a long time.
