死開啲啦 (Get Outta Here) (Blu-ray release 2016-1-28) is a Hong Kong vampire movie with some jokes, no horror (despite the poster), and mainly a social commentary. A vampire wakes up from a casket after being disturbed by construction work, joins a family who is being harassed by an evil land developer. He meets his best friend from his prior life, who happens to have become a vampire as well and is now working for that land developer.
Social commentary is fine, but its message can only be heard only if the movie itself is good enough. Unfortunately this is not the case here. There are not enough jokes to be a comedy, and they stop altogether after the movie tries to tell the main story. There is nothing noteworthy about the ordinary drama. The importance of the friendship between the vampires is unclear and unexplained. The unwatchable friendship scenes are not helped by the female protagonist, who remains angry for the whole movie and is not likeable.
