I’m pleased to say that in this new Batman movie – The Dark Knight Rises, director Christopher Nolan is still able to create action scenes that are new and exciting. The threat is even bigger this time. It has a good story that integrates really well with the previous two movies, to the point that it is really essential to have watched the previous two movies before watching this one. Watching the sexy Catwoman ride the Bat Pod is really great. The design of the new Batplane, The Bat, is consistent with the style of the Batmobile, but I don’t like it due to its resemblance to bugs. The new villain Bane is much less interesting than the Joker portrayed by Heath Ledger.
In the last several years, I have always considered The Dark Knight (2008) to be the best superhero movie ever. Watching it for the third time in preparation for The Dark Knight Rises (2012), I think it is perfect, so I was a little afraid that the new sequel could be disappointment to me. Is this new sequel a disappointment? Definitely not. However, I still like the 2008 movie more – no other superhero movie can explore humanity and the meaning of being a hero while still being an exciting action movie with an interesting and flawless story.
